Let’s begin my fun work day:

National Fun Work Day

How much fun is my job? That’s a good question. Which job? In honor of National Fun Day at Work, let’s see what that answer is!

If I were to make a list of my jobs it would look like this:

  • Cook
  • Chief Bottle Washer
  • Barista
  • Lost Sock Detective
  • Laundry Service
  • Keeper of all things (even those that don’t have a purpose)
  • The planner of all activities
  • Bandaid Specialist
  • Dog Entertainer
  • Travel Agent
  • Blogger
  • and my favorite – Professional Napper!

How do I start my fun work day?

National Fun Work Day

That’s right, I start my day like a boss…and end it like a sleep-deprived growling creature seeking the darkness of a dungeon! The beginning of my day makes me think of the song 9 to 5 by the iconic Dolly Parton.

“Tumble outta bed (even though it’s so warm and cozy)
And stumble to the kitchen (who used that many dishes in the middle of the night)
Pour myself a cup of ambition (*coffee is life)
Yawnin’ and stretchin’ and try to come to life (insert pop and crack)

Jump in the shower (more like carefully enter – I’m old)
And the blood starts pumpin’ (slightly elevated blood pressure – slow to wake up)
Out on the streets (they drive like lunatics)
The traffic starts jumpin’ (but I’m staying home because that’s my job)
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5 (actually 24/7/365)”

Let the blogging begin! May the emails and the keyboard be forever in your favor…

National Fun Work Day

Baking is my favorite part of blogging. Trying out recipes, spending the day wondering why it doesn’t resemble the professional (never photoshopped) photo, and deciding to eat the evidence of my failed it moment! I mean, who needs food critics (the family) coming in to point out the obvious humpback cake and the heart-shaped cookie in the shape of a square-ish circle?

As the day progresses, don’t forget to sprinkle a healthy amount of all of the above job titles into the mix. It’s like taking a big ole’ spoon and stirring it all into one day.

Feeling overwhelmed? No! Not at all! What gave you that idea? It’s noon and my house is done, my posts are half-written, my dogs are full (I fed them), I’m not hungry because I had to hide evidence, and I still haven’t done something… I don’t know what it is but I’m sure my husband will point it out. (I stay home so I have plenty of time to do EVERYTHING…)

Time to wear the Travel Agent hat!

National Fun Work Day

We love to travel and I try to take time out of my simple life each day to look for the most amazing places to visit! (Not that we will get to go to all of them.)

Let’s face it, this is my “me time” and a girl needs 14.5 minutes to herself to indulge in the wanderlust! Each year, I plan 15 vacations and seem to enjoy 1. I’m such an overachiever.

It’s far beyond 5 PM – more like midnight – and the day is done. My home is back to the “normal” level of clean, the dogs are ready for bed, the husband has been fed and I have a date with my pillow.

Thanks to Top Agency for the challenge to take part in the National Fun at Work Day.
